First Installfest in Sierra Vista
Normally, comments about installation festivals are routine and generally most of the activity is in the Linux Workshop area where individuals are seeking assistance for projects that they are working on. This one was a pure installfest co-sponsored by the Ubuntu-Arizona Local Community and the Cochise Linux user Group and took place at the University of Arizona South, Sierra Vista campus. There were 22 people in attendance and a total of seven Ubuntu/Ubuntu “flavor” installs, including two dual boot installs, were completed. The success of the event was due in no small part to the efforts of many people who volunteered their time, equipment, and expertise. Thank you all, especially our members from out of town some of whom drove 3 hours to lend their support to ensure that the event would be successful.
