The document below provides minimal instructions to create a bootable thumb drive using MultiSystem that will allow you to boot to .iso images on the same drive. MultiSystem is open source software that gives you an easy and convenient way to carry around multiple installation .iso files. It's great for Install Fests or to use as a means to run a Live LINUX instance of any version you may need.

This posting is a summary of how I got two systems to dual boot windows 8 and Ubuntu 14.04. Note that this was done on systems that didn't boot legacy, and had secure boot enabled.

I have been hearing that several Dual booted computers were have time issues
on windows at several local Linux events. after quick search I found

Stump the installer. Last week we had another challenging install at the local installfest in that most installer programs would not see the HDD sda. server did work but no desktop versions. after going home I found this link http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2003675 checked and verified and even and format and new partition tables the drive still thought it was part of the raid. sudo dmraid -E -r /dev/sda fixed it and then all installer programs seemed to work fine

I tend to be on #ubuntu to help others. Today, an interesting question
popped up, how do I clean the old linux images and headers?
Each linux image / header has its own dir in /usr/src/
Let's start, uname -a ... do NOT remove this image
Let's do a sudo apt-get update ... make sure it is clean
If, for some reason, you get errors, try sudo apt-get -f install (fix broken)
Let's get a list of all the images, dpkg -l | grep linux-image
