Secure Passwords

Many people who use a Linux Operating System believe that it is by definition a secure system and that they are in no danger. I was once told that Linux is like a room with all the doors and windows closed and locked. I have also been told that the only truly secure computer is one that is disconnected from the Internet, turned off, unplugged and battery removed (for laptops), and placed back in its box on the top shelf of the hall closet. The truth is probably some where in between.

Looking for volunteer opportunities

My name is Stephen Melheim and I currently work in a help desk position. I am looking to get deeper into networking and security fields but know a bit more. My free times are usually Saturday and Sunday, but I do get out of work after 4 on weekdays.

If anyone has projects they need help on a won't mind having someone that knows a little about the technology being used and would be find teching, then I'd been willing to help. Post here or email me at smelheim85@gmail.com.
